My name is Meho Jelin, and I am a new author based in Niagara Falls, Canada. My life is a winding tale filled with twists and turns, including experiences of war, psychological turmoil, death, and, ultimately, happiness. I grew up in my home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina, before migrating to Canada with my family in the late 1990s. My first book, “Baric,” is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, drawing inspiration from my childhood experiences in a war zone.
Much of my life in North America has been embraced on the open road. For the last 15 years I have driven all across Canada and the United States. I’ve been an owner-operator of a tractor trailer for the majority of my life, meeting people everywhere I went. In late 2024, I began writing and uncovered a powerful psychological outlet. I had never understood the deep relaxation and relief that came from putting my thoughts on paper until I embarked on this transformative journey. Writing became like my own personal therapy session. Since then, writing has transformed into my passion, complemented by the various art forms I have cherished for years prior to embracing my role as a writer. While I appreciate all genres and styles, fiction ignites my creativity like no other.
My other source of inspiration comes from a remarkable woman whose life I cherish and celebrate every day. Having the right person by your side is crucial; she recognizes my ambitions and encourages me to pursue my dreams while embracing all my strengths and weaknesses.
Every work of art and every written word, along with all my creations, is a tribute to my beautiful Natalie, whose passion and unwavering emotional and spiritual support inspire me every day.
